A Marvellous Musical Wedding!

An eagerly awaiting Groom and his Best Man at the beautiful church in Fordham a few weeks ago.

Meanwhile, a gorgeous bride was preparing to meet her harmonious match at the alter.

A proud father walked his daughter up the aisle, accompanied but an exquisite brass quintet.

A soulful ceremony featured sound advice for David and Michelle and also a hymn that David actually wrote. It was truly special.

The happiest couple in the world walked back up the aisle.

David and Michelle were nearly swept away by the wind.

I don't think they would've minded, so long as they were together!

The reception was at the lovely Victoria Hall in Fordham. I couldn't resist making the most of the old antique shop opposite.

David and Michelle have lots of friends with many talents. Not only were the musicians their friends and family but a few pals from the local school where David teaches at were involved in the organisation, too.

The speeches were heartfelt...

and hilarious!

As a special surprise, David joined his sister in the band for a rendition of Honey Pie.

It was just a hoot as the couple's friends joined in with their first dance...'The Birdie Song!'

Congratulations, David and Michelle. I had a wonderful day and I'm looking forward to sharing all of the pictures with you. x

Northumbria ama a Colombia!

...and together they have created Emilio!!

Viviana asked me to photograph her stunning family in St Albans last month. Of course, nothing gives me more pleasure...especially on a beautiful day.
We started the shoot with Viviana and Emilio in the local park.

...and then...daddy arrived! Emilio was overjoyed to see him and it was so brilliant to be able to catch the moment. It's what makes my job so so special.

...and what a proud daddy he is! Well, who wouldn't be?!

We had lots of fun trying to catch this shot, but worth it, I think you'll agree!

Back at home for some more model family portraits... HELLO!

Emilio was so so happy to be playing with his mum and dad.

He seemed like such a content little boy.

Thank you so much for a great day, Viviana. I can't wait to show you the full collection. There are so many! ; )   x

Ruben in May

I'm so lucky that my beautiful sister has created such perfect babies for me to photograph, just in time for me to be able to do it half well!

You may have been wondering how my little nephew, Ruben is doing at 9 weeks old. Well, he's looking at people and smiling... especially at his big brother...and no doubt learning some naughty tricks.

And when he's not doing that he's sleeping and generally looking like an angel. x

A Glorious Wedding Day for Rachel&Jared

I thought Mr Met Weather was taking the mickey when I saw that shiny sun symbol forecast for Rachel and Jared's wedding, amidst the rainy days either side in North Yorkshire last month. But, as though it were a blessing on their marriage from the heavens, the sun beamed down on us all day.

Rachel met her wonderful man in Cambridge, where she went to college. BUT!! He was an Oxford Grad so he had a little work to do to win her over!

There were many a list being checked by the Groom and his Groomsmen that morning...and a few drams thrown in for good measure!

Meanwhile in Grassington, the bridal preparations were cool and calm and washed down with champagne.

Rachel's beautiful bridesmaid was a dream to photograph...

...and Rachel, well...she looked absolutely breathtaking in her stunning Ian Stewart gown with flowers by The Hedgerow of Skipton.

Rachel and her handsome brother, James were an absolute vision coming down the aisle.

There wasn't a dry eye in the house.

It wasn't difficult to capture the wonderful buzz at the church that day.

The romance was also free flowing so I had a wonderful time recording the happy couple's love for each other and true happiness.

Rachel and Jared had their wedding reception at The Priest's House in Barden and I found this little spot for some quiet time with me just round the corner. Perfect.

The venue really was special and luckily enough I got to stay there AND sample some of Mark's delicious Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding! Thank you Deborah and Mark for being such great hosts for all of us.

Such fun photographing guests enjoying themselves in the awesome light.

Champagne aplenty...

...and brilliant speeches...

...including one from The Bride herself, explaining the lengths that poor Jared went to in order to become Mr Harker!!

The evening ended with an enormous swing band and dancing...

...dancing and more dancing!

I so loved being part of your day Rachel and Jared. Thank you for being such a great couple and for persuading the sun to put his top hat on!

A Beautiful African Baby, Amelie

My sister's best friend, Hannah, went to live in Mozambique. As well as applying all her great arts management skills to helping NGO's get better, she also found herself a lovely husband and, as if she couldn't fit any more amazingness in, along came Amelie!

Hannah, I can't believe how your life has changed in the last couple of years. You truly are a very special person and have created a beautiful family.

Hannah and Bruno were relaxed and seemed to really enjoy the shoot, despite me demanding Mozambique temperatures in the room we were in at Hannah's parents' house.

Hannah, Bruno and Amelie go back to live in Mozambique a little later this month. I've had an invitation to go visit! Yes pleeeeeease!

Wishing you all the love in the world in your new home. You and Africa are lucky to have each other. x

Assisting Dominic Whiten in Mayfair

The wonderful and talented Mr Dominic Whiten asked me to assist him on a rather special wedding. Of course, I leapt at the chance as soon as he mentioned Mayfair!

My job was to catch the groom awaiting his bride...

Dom stepped back and let me get a few of the stunning Kate before she walked up the aisle. Lucky me!

My number one mission was to get a nice wide shot of the ceremony. Tick!

I was able to take a bit of a step back when the couple came out of the church, allowing me to catch the happy couple unawares, whilst Dom did all the hard work of gathering the groups.

I always learn so much when I work with Dom. He's got such a personable manor...he always makes his couples (and their guests in this case) feel comfortable and most of all he's exceptional at getting the shots he wants 'in camera'...something I'm trying to perfect.

And so the day continued at the fabulous Connaught...

...and Dom talked through how to use the soft light in The Moon Garden.

It helped to have such a model couple. Kate wore a Rosa Clara dress and the flowers were by McQueens.

The whole wedding just oozed quality. You should keep an eye on Dom's blog for the official wedding photographs. Be prepared to get blown away!! Thank you Dom, for an amazing opportunity. x
